 This
business model is attractive to those companies that
want to manage the manufacturing of their product on
their own but need a design service provider for the
backend design work. The customer can choose which point
to hand-off the design database: with written RTL, logic
netlist, or placed-gates. Depending on a customer's
considerations, they may hand-off a design at
placed-gates if they want to do their own low-level gate
placement optimization on one design and hand-off
another design at RTL if they need to conserve internal
staffing or cost. This flexibility in hand-off
point enables a customer to focus on their core
expertise. IPCore will complete the remainder of
the design work and validate the design with a
comprehensive set of tapeout verification checks.
After a sign-off review of the work and
verification results, IPCore will transfer a GDSII
database, ready to be sent to the target foundry, back
to the customer. IPCore has high success in
first-time working silicon, and the design work is
backed by a warranty.
